IBCSR members are invited to submit book reviews, events, web links, and news articles (for ScienceOnReligion.org) to the IBCSR.org editor. The editor will consider all submissions for inclusion on this site (or on ScienceOnReligion.org for news articles). To make a submission, email the item to editor@ibcsr.org and include your name and any affiliation so that we can give you credit. Specific information about each type of submission is below.
Book Reviews
To submit a book review, include the following information in your submission (in addition to your name).
- The book’s author, title, publication information, page count, and cost.
- A graphic illustration of the book cover, or a URL pointing to such a picture.
- Do not submit a review of your own book!
News Articles for ScienceOnReligion.org
To submit a news article, keep the following requirements in mind.
- IBCSR.org news articles always focus on research in the scientific study of religion. That means we seek not blog entries or opinion pieces, but accessible summaries of scientific research related to religious beliefs, behaviors, and experiences.
- IBCSR.org news articles always include the following three elements: (1) the hook (an engaging paragraph that immediately indicates the relevance of the article), (2) the content (a description of the research), and (3) the link (a url to the original research article so that interested readers can consult the source for themselves).
- IBCSR.org news article submissions require the name (and affiliation where relevant) of the news article’s writer.
- Do not submit a news article about your own research publication!
Web Links
To submit a web link, include the following information in your submission (in addition to your name).
- Link Classification (choose one and only one of the following: (1) Projects and Institutions, (2) Societies and Associations, (3) Journals, (4) Conferences, and (5) Websites)
- Link Name (a one-line descriptive name for the link)
- Link Description (a 2-4 line descriprtion of the link’s content)
- Link URL (so that the link can be clickable)
- Please feel free to promote your own work through our web links.
Events
To submit a web link, include the following information in your submission (in addition to your name).
- Event name,
- Event description,
- Event date(s) and times,
- Event location, and
- Link to further information.
- Please feel free to promote your own events through the IBCSR.org calendar.
